About me

Maria Bani

SEND Consultant & Dyslexia Assessor

I have always been interested in the psychological and emotional implications of learning and behavior and started my career as a primary school teacher, working across the Early Years and both Key Stages. During my teaching career, I enjoyed forming positive, nurturing relationships with children and had first-hand experience of understanding the cognitive, medical, social and emotional factors that can contribute to children’s success at school. I had particular strengths developing behavior systems for both individual children and whole classes. I was able to utilise and develop my skills in behavior management during my role as a Specialist Teacher for Behaviour and Learning at Warrington Borough Council Inclusion Services.

Since then I have had over 15 years experience working with children and training staff in the area of Special Educational Needs. Having worked as both a class teacher and specialist teacher, I feel that I can be empathetic to and understand the challenges faced by class teachers in everyday practice.

I pride myself on having high expectations of both myself and every child/young person. I have enhanced the provision and outcomes for learners with Special Educational Needs both primary and secondary schools and settings across Warrington and I look forward to working with you soon.

With a specialism in Psychology and Behaviour management, I am experienced educationalist with 15 years of local authority, teaching and personal experience working in the area of Special Needs in schools and settings across Warrington. I have the accredited qualifications and extensive experience and expertise in supporting pupils with additional or special educational needs.

Throughout my career, my personal mission has been to help children to become happy, successful and confident individuals. I believe all children/young people should have access to an appropriate education that affords them the opportunity to achieve their personal potential.
